"I was with a smaller firm for 3 years
and wanted to step up to something larger. I was very impressed
by Jules and all the people here during my interview process.
There was such sincere interest in my goals and interests,
in my development and what they could offer to help me be
successful, it just made the choice to join W&G very easy
and obvious. And now that I'm here, they 'take my temperature
a lot' to make sure that things are functioning according
to my expectations. It's impressive that a firm this size
has a formal evaluation and career development process that
includes a personal and professional plan to help each of
us set, monitor and achieve our goals.
One of the things that I find interesting is that there is
probably more access to Shareholders and Senior staff here
than at smaller firms-on any issue. But it's not just the
access that counts. In my mind, the firm has good track record
of responsiveness to our concerns. Once a month, we meet with
Ed Guttenplan (the Managing Shareholder) to exchange ideas
and issues. It's clear that while they can't always do everything
they would like, they are listening and making a real committed
effort to addressing what we discuss.
I think that it all adds to the team atmosphere; while I
always feel I'm being challenged to do my best, I know the
firm works very hard at doing its best for me-I want to do
whatever I can to do my best for the firm and its clients.
I know it all seems like it's too good to be true-but it really
is true that this is a very special place to work." |
