| I have a number of friends who work at the
larger accounting firms and I am not sure they like their
jobs nearly as much as I do. They don't seem to be appreciated
for their long hours and sacrifice of their personal lives.
I have also heard that there's little input into the assignments
you get, and little, if any, partner interaction.
One of the biggest attractions of coming here was that I
expressed a desire to try both audit and tax, and the firm
made that happen. I really enjoyed the tax work, and now that's
what I do full time. There are definitely stressful times
like tax season, but our hard work never goes unnoticed or
unappreciated. People who put in long hours are recognized
and rewarded, through either extra pay or with additional
time off. I also have the opportunity to work closely with
the partners, and I know my efforts are being recognized.
The relaxed attitude, the professionalism with which we're
treated, the opportunities for learning from varied types
of clients, has made me appreciate how much I enjoy working
here. In making a career choice, I think people owe it to
themselves to find out about, and consider the tremendous
opportunities here.
