Biographical Information:

Valerie Thorpe, a Manager at WilkinGuttenplan., has been with the firm since 2012. She specializes in providing assurance and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries. Valerie concentrates her practice on providing audit, review, compilation, governmental compliance, and other miscellaneous consulting services to closely held and family-owned businesses in New Jersey and professional and medical practice areas in the tri-state area. She also provides audit services for a number of employee benefit plans and 401Ks. Valerie’s real estate expertise includes providing audits, compilations, reviews, and agreed upon procedures engagements to commercial rental properties, owners of residential rental housing, and common interest realty associations (CIRAs) throughout New Jersey.

Valerie is also involved in various administrative areas within the firm, including technical updates, compliance, staff development through training and process improvements, coordinating A&A departmental initiatives, as well as WilkinGuttenplan’s Women in Business group and the Working Parent committee. She is also a coach for several of the younger staff members, guiding them through their careers.

Prior to joining WilkinGuttenplan, Valerie worked for one of the Big Four accounting firms, where she provided audit, review and agreed-upon procedure services to a diverse client base in the private sector.
