WilkinGuttenplan is proud to announce that Karen Waga, Chief Marketing Officer, has been named Marketer of the Year by the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), a national organization dedicated to advancing marketing and business development within the accounting profession.

The AAM Marketer of the Year award recognizes a marketing professional who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and measurable impact within their firm and the broader accounting industry.

In her role at WilkinGuttenplan, Karen has led a more strategic, integrated approach to CPA firm marketing strategy by strengthening the firm’s brand, elevating its digital marketing presence, and aligning business development efforts more closely with practice group goals. Her work has helped drive meaningful growth while bringing greater consistency and focus to the firm’s overall marketing efforts.

“Karen has transformed the way we approach marketing,” said Dan Fiorentino, Managing Shareholder at WilkinGuttenplan. “She brings both vision and execution, ensuring our efforts are not only creative, but directly tied to results and firm growth.”

Over the past year, Karen has led several strategic initiatives across the firm, including enhancements to marketing analytics and reporting, expanded digital and website strategy efforts, and the relaunch of the firm’s podcast, Future Focused Advisory. These initiatives have strengthened the firm’s thought leadership presence, improved visibility across key industries, and contributed to new business growth.

“I’m honored to be recognized by AAM and grateful to be part of a firm that believes in the power of strategic marketing, innovation, and collaboration,” said Karen. “This award reflects the support of our leadership team and the incredible people I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside throughout my career.”

The award was announced on May 19 during AAM’s annual conference, which brings together marketing professionals from accounting firms across the country.
