New York City has extended the deadline for homeowners to apply for an exemption from the city’s new pied-à-terre tax. The Department of Finance announced on August 1 that the original August 21 deadline has been pushed to September 18, 2026.
The extension applies to all homeowners who received a letter from the Department of Finance stating they may be subject to the surcharge.
