New York State has officially announced that its April 15th tax filing and payment deadline has been extended until July 15, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The extension applies to tax returns for individuals, fiduciaries (estates and trusts), and corporations, as well as all related tax payments, which includes first quarter 2020 estimated tax payments. All tax returns originally due on April 15th will automatically be granted the 90-day extension, and all related tax payments may be deferred until July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed.
